Awful law firm! Liars, do not trust anything they tell you.

Absolutely shady people not to be trusted. If they manage your condo or HOA...
MOVE Now while you still can. If they have contacted, you hire
an attorney immediately, do not believe them, do not pay them, do not pass go without a lawyer. They manipulate the law for profit and will sell your property at auction without your knowledge. Numerous news team reports & documented cases of their employees buying & selling properties they forced foreclosure sale.
I can't believe they can do this and still be above ground. Search Firm online and search your name/address on county website if they have contacted you ,

Post Judgment Fees
If your Homeowner Association has hired the law firm of Lazega & Johanson to collect assessments and you are still being charged despite paying your judgment balance in full, I need to hear from you. A class action lawsuit will be formed to stop this injustice to homeowners.

Did not report all of the paid checks to the courts
I met with the law firm and they never adjusted their wrong allegations that cost me more money. I had to hire over 4 attorneys with Georgia's lack of consumer support against poorly ran HOA's.

Before you purchase any home or condo in Georgia do your research avoid HOA that use this firm. That will be your red flag not to purchase that property, Run! and don't look Back

The worst of the worst
They took my house, where i lived for 17 years, for one year of missed hoa dues (800 dollars) l which i already had given them 10,000 for the 800. They bought my house which I lost 189,000 in equity and evicted me.
I would like to bring a class action law suit but need at least 12 cases.

I’ve been complaining about this sleazy Atlanta firm for years. It was only a matter of time before these d I r t b a g s got busted. Hopefully the State Bar takes them down.

UNETHICAL and INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE
Without revealing any identifiers I will vouch that this law firm is full of unethical people including attorneys and collectors who seem to be doing absolutely nothing except going on long lunch breaks according to their (often allegedly new-hired) receptionists. They SHOW no urgency or interest in receiving settlement offers and NEVER RETURN CALLS OR EMAILS!
I pray karma gets them all sooner than later!
It's one thing to be irresponsible and ignore debts but it's entirely different if you're a hard working citizen who is just trying to have a peaceful life without these vultures trying to trap you into paying them for the rest of your natural life. So terribly dreadful it is!

This firm has actually file a civil suite against my property for not paying HOA DUES. Seeking JUDICIAL FORECLOSURE.
Payments were being made! Do your own investigation on this firm and connect the dots! For real, you are forced to submit acknowledgement you are pissed customer only to use against you! That's right if you don't hit the acknowledgement button your complaint can NOT BE SUBMITTED??

I own a home that is governed by an HOA. The home is a rental that I have owned for more than 3 years.
It is leased to an upscale executive who is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. My relationship with a past HOA member was exemplary. Now, the HOA board has changed to this little group of "small" brains with LARGE egos. They are subdivision homeowners who have apparently voted to lower the rental % and force out decent owners who rent to high class clientele.
Even their own personal homes need renovations yet they now pick on the rental owners. Then, instead of giving any forewarning of a change in the HOA rules, they pass an amendment (that I voted no on BTW) to kick out anyone who didn't file notice of a rental home. The past HOA knew everything about my rental and they have never sent me notice of the change nor can they prove they have. Benator is a complete I d I o t and also a j a c k *** not to mention the HOA members.
My very first notice was a get out and go to *** letter from Benator associated with threats and fines that were outrageous.
BEWARE of Tyson Woods in Acworth Underhanded buch of brats that comprise the HOA and low rent law firm to boot. I'm selling and getting the *** out.

Exorbitant Attorney Fees
The Law firm of Lazega & Johanson, LLC. should be ashamed, and investigated for charging my husband extremely high Attorney Fees of Almost $2,000 to enter a Judgment for the collection of Homeowner Association Dues.
Furthermore, to add insult to injury, my husband's ENTIRE bank account was cleared out to a balance of $0 for the HOA Dues. That's right his wages were not garnished, but his bank account was instead. So, unfortunately, we now have no way to pay several of our important bills. Additionally, the checking account now has insufficient funds from debit card transactions which were processed (3) to be exact.
Why is there not a consumer advocate or someone lobbying against such despicable behavior? Honestly, is this really legal in Georgia? Do we the citizens of the United States of America not have any more rights? Are Debt Collectors given the upper hand, and is there absolutely -- no one available to assist the average American in the settlement of such matters?
How is this possible? I need someone from the Gwinnett County Court Court System to explain this to us in explicit detail. I now am revisiting the idea to leave "this country" permanently. Perhaps, we'll go to a place where a person is given rights and that someone will actually care.
Well, anyway, the Declaration of Independence states and I quote "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." So, please excuse me, if I fail to understand why we have been treated unequally by this law firm. I mean honestly, how many hours did the attorney spend in front of the Judge to be granted a FINAL ORDER and JUDGMENT? Additionally, I would be quite curious to find out what the HOURLY RATE is for legal services against poor little ole me. Therefore, it is needless to say that at the present time, I AM NOT HAPPY!
Nonetheless, It is upsetting to say, this is a situation where I feel that some shady business has taken place. Perhaps, I should have finished studying for the LSAT and went on to law school as originally planned? WOW, because it definitely would have paid off, big time for me. Honestly, when we called to make a payment arrangement, we were denied.
So, I am praying that someone will do a complete investigation regarding what has transpired, and provide me with some answers. In the meantime, I rest my case!

The company is both the lawyers and collection firm. L&J put a lien on my home without letting me know how much I owe the HOA and the dates of the fines.
Same and harrassed me for months for their attorneys fees, AFTER I paid my HOA dues. I requested a itemized invoice for their fees, which they ignored for months.
I went to pay my homeowners dues for 2024 and I am blocked out of my community portal and cannot pay my dues, which are current, until I pay their exorbitant attorney fees. I asked for the itemized statement of what I was being charged for, FROM MY HOA, and the HOA sent me back an itemized statement dated last week with the wrong amounts on it. These lawyers put a lien on my house for their fees, not my HOA dues, in retaliation to me complaining that they were crooks. Funny thing is, the invoice I got dated today, with the fees on it from last year, totaled the exact same amount with them paying the court fees last week for putting the lien on my house.
How could I owe administrative fees for them putting a lien on my house LAST YEAR when they did not put the lien on my house until 5 days ago. Billing fraud and across state lines. Getting a lawyer.
They have lawsuits on record for violating the FDCPA, illegal billing practices and threatening and harassing collection practices. My advice, don't respond to them and get an attorney immediately.

1000% agree with you about this company. We had the same experience.
They need to be put out of business and Georgia need a watchdog and consumer protection legislation to address abusive HOA and collection businesses in Georgia. There should be a cap on how much legal fees and HOA fees.
I paid all my fees, evern the ones that were inaccurate. They still put a lien on my home. I am current with my HOA dues, but still a lien.
